Tillandsia stricta – silver, brasil
Tillandsia stricta is native to South America, particularly Brazil. There, it grows primarily as an epiphyte (a plant that grows on other plants) on trees.
These specimens are large, multi-stemmed clusters with numerous densely packed, silver-gray leaves. The silvery coloration is caused by a dense covering of trichomes (suction scales).
